Bean Cards
Right when young children are learning different animal names is the perfect age for them to start learning a second (or third) language while they’re at it. Bean Cards ($1) for the iPhone are like virtual interactive flash cards. Each of the 24 animated cards features a different animal and gives its name in English and Chinese, both through spoken words and text on the card, so kids can hear the correct pronunciation and also see the English letters and Chinese characters that compose the name. The animals on the cards even speak their own languages, adding an element of fun to the learning by mooing and clucking.
