Word Cub

Alphabet blocks, those favorite toys of your child’s early years, have gone electronic as the stars of Word Cub ($2), a phonics game for the iPhone. Three modes of play challenge a wide range of skill levels among preschoolers learning to read. With Letter Match, words appear on the screen and the player is instructed to tap a specific letter. The more letters found, the more floating bubbles they get to pop at the end of the round. Word Discovery and Sound Match up the ante, challenging kids to identify words and letter sounds.
